Stage Lark is your go-to digital hub for the student dance community. We bring together parents, teachers, studios, and event organisers in one beautifully designed, mobile-first platform that’s built for life on the move.

Over the coming months we will be rolling out more functionality – but for now, here’s what we offer:

Account management

It costs nothing to open an account on Stage Lark. Our Event organiser accounts are perfect for dance businesses and those organising dance events. Your account lets you stay in touch with what’s new in the dance world, and gives you access to secure tools designed for Australia’s student dance community.

Opening an account on Stage Lark is quick, easy, and completely free. Just start here and fill out the online form, verify your email address, and you’ll be instantly taken to your personal account dashboard – ready to get started!

You can update your account details and password by signing in to My account and selecting My account details. Make your required changes – they’ll take effect immediately.

Sign in to My account, and click on My invoices to see a list of all issued receipts and payment records. You can download individual invoices directly from that page.

You’re always in control and can update your communication preferences at any time. Sign in to My account and select My account details. Scroll down to the section about your communication preferences, then press Update details.

If you’d like to close your account, sign in to My account and go to My account details. Click on the Close my account tab and fill out the short closure form. Once we’ve received your form we’ll close your account and delete your details within 48 hours.

Listings

Once you’ve opened an account:

  1. Sign in to My account and navigate to Create a listing. From this page, you can select whether you want to list an event or list your business, and what package you want.
  2. After selecting your package, you’ll be guided through an online form, where you can provide information about your business or event. If you don’t have all the information you need, you can save a draft and come back to it later.
  3. After submitting your form, it will go live on our platform within 24 hours. We’ll send you an email as soon as it’s live, so you can start sharing it with your network.

 

If you only plan on listing an event for now, we do strongly advise that you also list your business. All events are automatically unpublished from our platform following their end date, but business listings remain indefinitely. By having a business listing on the platform, you’ll remain visible to potential customers, even after your event has ended.

Quick tips to stand out on Stage Lark:

Use great images

Show off dancers, studios, and events with crisp, high-quality visuals. Avoid blurry or overly filtered photos.

Keep wording clear

Use warm, confident language that’s easy to understand.

Show key details early

Include competition dates, age groups, location, deadlines, and entry fees right up front.

Update regularly

Don’t let outdated info sit. Refresh listings with changes to rules, fees, or schedules.

Sign in to My account and navigate to My listings. All your live listings are stored on this page. Unpublished listings are saved under Archive at the bottom of the page.

Simply sign in to My account and head to My listings. This is where you can find all your listings currently live on the platform. Select the listing you’d like to update, click Edit, make your changes, then hit Next. Your updates will be applied instantly!

All event listings are automatically unpublished after their end date and stored in your Archive under My listings. If you want to unpublish a listing before then, or if you want to remove a business listing, contact our support team, quoting the name of the listing and its Listing ID. We’ll get straight onto it!

Featured listings increase your business’ visibility even more, and mean you can benefit from extra features, like video, imagery, and direct links to special promotions. Additional features you receive from a featured listing, include: 

  • Prime position on our homepage: Event and business listings remain on our homepage for three months (or until an event’s scheduled end date, whichever is sooner). Featured listings also appear at the top of search categories on the search pages. 
  • Link through to ticket purchase page or special offer: A featured listing includes a prominent ‘call-to-action’ button, which links through to any special offers you may want to promote – to give sales even more of a boost.  
  • Bring it to life with video: Showcase your offering by embedding a YouTube video.
  • Add more images: Add up to five images, which are displayed in a carousel. 
  • Newsletter feature: We’ll give your listing a prime spot in our monthly newsletter.

We accept payments through PayPal. PayPal offers various checkout options, and you don’t need a PayPal account to use their services.

PayPal offers security features like data encryption, fraud protection, and seller protection. It also meets the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, which governs how payment data must be handled to prevent fraud and identity theft.

Your credit card or bank information is never stored on our platform – only PayPal handles it securely. Find out more about PayPal.

If you’ve spotted your business or event in our directory and would like to manage it yourself, we offer an easy way to take control.

  1. Sign up for an account if you haven’t already.
  2. Visit your listing in our directory and scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Claim this listing button.
  3. Fill out the short claim form to verify your connection to the business.

 

Once your account has been verified, we’ll transfer ownership of the listing to you. From there, you’ll be able to update your business or event details any time you like, keeping your information fresh, accurate, and fully in your hands.

Privacy and security

Stage Lark is built with robust security protocols to protect your data and ensure safe interactions online:

SSL encryption – Our entire site is secured with SSL encryption, keeping all data transmission private and secure.

Firewall protection and server hardening – We deploy industry-standard firewalls and server security measures to block malicious traffic and ensure platform resilience.

No banking details stored – We do not retain any banking or payment information on our platform, reducing risk and protecting financial privacy.

Minimal data collection – When collecting data, we only request the minimum information necessary—ensuring simplicity and respecting user privacy.
